Originally from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Master Brunim started his Brazilian Jiu Jitsu journey in 1996 at the legendary Carlson Gracie school at Rua Figueiredo Magalhães in Copacabana. His first instructors were Master Ricardo ‘Liborio’ and Master Ricardo ‘Kiko Velloso’.

In 2006 he moved to Florida and continued training with Master ‘Liborio’ at American Top Team and began coaching at various American Top Team locations in South Florida. By 2009, Master Brunim was awarded his Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belt. He is currently a 3rd degree Black Belt.

By 2012, Master Brunim began teaching full-time as one of the head coaches at the American Top Team Headquarters in Coconut Creek, FL, coaching children and adults in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. He also coached children in the after-school anti-bullying program.

​

At the ATT Headquarters, he had the privilege to teach and train with top level coaches and professional MMA fighters, such as Marcos Parrumpa, Steve Mocco, Katel Kubis, Ailton Barbosa, Gleison Tibau, Adriano Moraes,Alexandre Pantoja , Jussier "Formiga",  Pedro Munoz, Renato Moicano, Thiago Moises, Gezary Matuda, BigFoot Silva and many more...

Professor Brunim has dedicated his career to coaching, teaching, and competing for the past 20 years. He remains dedicated and loyal to the high quality instruction that American Top Team is known for. With the main academy in Coconut Creek closing the public programs, Master Brunim is very happy to announce, with support of the American Top Team Headquarters, opening a location just a few minutes south of the main academy.
